Elizabeth Quick, living a life of convention and anxiety and the occasional kickboxing class, never believed she was powerful. Then an extinction event left behind a wild new planet, equal parts dangerous and astonishing. Now Elizabeth is in that wilderness alone, searching for her teenage daughter and realizing that, just like the plants and animals she sees evolving in the blink of an eye, she must become someone she never thought possible.

5 years ago, I’d have said, “this ain’t your typical post-apocalyptic story,” but then I remembered that tales like Sweet Tooth, The Quiet Place, The Last of Us, and just about every other contemporary post-apocalyptic tale is very much like this, where it’s less about “what happened” and more about our “how it feels to live through.” It’s less than an hour. Oh, and there’s a pegasus, maybe? Get it.
